I bought two plants today. I have seen them growing in other people’s gardens for over a year now and have been meaning to go out and get them, and today, I finally did! I am not even sure if I will wait for the weekend to dig the holes and plant them. I want to get them in the ground pronto! They are pretty plants. They have leaves that are green on the top side and purple underneath, and the flowers / blossoms that they put out are pink with white on the tips. Apparently they are called “Starbursts” or “Shooting Stars“. Here are a couple of pics:

With my love for the candy “Starbursts“, I considered the name to be quite fortuitous and I bought them immediately, even thought I was only planning to do a scouting mission today. Wish me and my green thumb luck, peoples! My garden is bare enough already. I need to add a few more plants!

I am also planning to get an Ackee Tree and a Carrie or a Julie Mango tree in the near future. I foresee a lot of arduous digging in my future.

But you know, Natty noticed something during the show, and she pointed it out to me and it does seem like its true… Have you noticed how everytime they have some kind of comedy that includes drugs, they always play reggae music during the scenes where the people in the show are acting all wasted and stupid as fuck?!

Whats up with that?! What are they trying to say, know what I mean? Fuck them, yo! After all, more weed is smoked in the U.S. of A. in a day than they smoke all year in Jamaica! That’s musical racial profiling… I think….

Plus, the guy in the movie was on some kind of acid! Yardies don’t do acid! Just a little weed!

Today would have been my sister Elizabeth’s birthday, if she didn’t die earlier this year. Happy Birthday in heaven, Elizabeth! I know you are having fun!

While I was in Jam, I saw some old friends and cousins… that was nice. I saw my Mom and M’Buthelezi too. It was a good trip.

I brought back a car part from Jamaica, an evaporator core (a part for the A/C). Listen to me, the A/C is FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS now, man! Now I realise how long the A/C had been dying! The A/C is so cold now that I cant even run it at the second-to-highest setting, much less the highest! Summer, I am ready for you now! Bring it on, bitch!

Since I have been back in Cayman, I have been keeping a fairly low profile. Haven’t gone out much. Only been to Mango Tree on Friday for a couple of drinks, and to the beach yesterday, which was irie you frig! Have played only a little bit of pool… just been chilling, you done know…

Oh, how could I forget! Last night, for some unfathomable reason, the internet went down, AND one of my computers got hosed! And I don’t know why! It is so annoying! This morning, I got the internet modem reconfigured with the assistance of a rather miserable call centre support rep from LIME, but I still have to get the PC fixed. Maybe I should stop this blog post here and go tackle that… I will try putting in the Windows CD and repairing Windows. I hope I don’t have to reload it entirely! Cho man… I gone. You guys enjoy the rest of the Sunday, seen. Take care…

I had that with some “Captain’s Bakery” hard dough bread with some butter and TRUST MI!!!IT DID WICKED!! IT DID IRIE!!

To tell you how nice it was, after Natty had her sandwich, she came to me and said, “Thanks for introducing me to that Spicy Thai Chili tuna!”. Thanks go out to my bredrin “Scabbo” from Jamaica, because is him tell me about it! Awoah!

After that, I washed up two loads of dishes, then made lunch for MBJr. and myself, two “Mad Bull Burgers”! They were great, boy! Nicely seasoned (though not by me) then grilled to perfection! Mmm mmm mmmm! Succulent! Hey, you can take a look at my burger here, if you have a Facebook account. Yeah, I know, its just another burger, but is me make it! That alone makes it worth a look! Awoah!

Since then, I’ve been reloading a PC with Windoze XP, and writing this blog post. I am almost done with both. The PC reload was way overdue! All that was involved was to wipe whatever was on it initially then load Win Xp, MS Office, Service packs for both, Firefox, Google Chrome, and AVG Anti-Virus, but I just wasn’t feeling it, know what I mean? Man, I have been sitting on my ass on this job for so long, its a good thing I wasn’t charging for it! Anyway, its done now. I’m going to give it back to them later… hopefully they don’t chop me up when they see me…

Last night was pretty cool, actually, despite my car boiling over twice as I was taking it back to the mechanic after work. It had me sitting on the roadside for ages waiting for it to cool down. Thank God fi mi bredrin Gotti, to rass! Trust me, good friend better than pocket coil, you nuh seet! Gotti helped me to get the car to the mechanic! Respect, Sir Gotti!

So what did I do? Well, first I had a couple of well disguised soft drinks at Mango Tree, (the sweetie of a bar tender pretended to everyone that it was Grey Goose and Cranberry that she was serving to me when it was really just Cranberry juice and Club Soda. My gout was acting up, thats why I was on soft drinks. I need to stop drinking, you know! Its just that life will be so flippin boring afterwards! ) then got some chinese food and watched a movie on Netflix with the family. We watched a couple episodes of “Family Guy“, then we watched a Tyler Perry movie, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself“. It was ok. I give it a 5.7/10. It can watch. (The leading actress, Taraji Henson is pretty hot still, IMHO! When you see her in her slinky dresses, it will give you all kind of naughty ideas, trust me!) Yea, so the movie wasn’t awesome, but it was fun chillin’ with all the family on a Friday Nite. Nowadays, either Natty or I have gone out on Friday nights or we are all here, but we’re all doing our own shit, not really chillin’ together, if you know what I mean. It was nice for a change….

Actually, now that I think about it, the whole day yesterday was irie… Work was pretty easy going and nice, excepting for hearing the news about my bredrin’s car, then I went over my job appraisal with my boss! 4.5 out of 5, YO! At lunchtime, Gotti and I went to a friend’s house and nyammed some KFC (Chipotle Wings, fries, a corn and a cole slaw for me… Yum!), while they played a PS3 game, FIFA Street. It actually looks like a lot of fun! Check it out:

Then I wound the day down by going to bed at a decent time and getting some good ZZZZ’s in for a change! Pretty decent overall, actually…

He got home safely from work and went to bed, only to be awakened by a whooshing noise and his dog barking! When he looked outside, his car was ON FIRE! He had to call for the fire department, who got there and put out the fire before anything exploded, but not before the car was burnt to a cinder!

Now, he is not the sort of guy who has lots of enemies, so we are all at a loss as to who could have done this! He isn’t involved in any love triangles, he isn’t into drugs, he hasn’t had any arguments with anyone and I would swear for him that he would never do this himself! The only thing we can think of is that it was something done as a form of initiation into a gang!

Seriously though, that is some crazy bullshit right there, trust me!

My sister Elizabeth (a.k.a. Betty, or as she is known on my blog, Elaine) died on January 2, 2012.

I remember some things about Elizabeth…

I remember that she was very bright, and she did very well in school….

I also remember that she was a warm, happy charismatic person, with loads of friends and admirers.

I remember how she won the all-island Spelling Bee competition in Jamaica, and the trip to Trinidad she won as the prize.

I remember how she came first in all the island in the Common Entrance examinations, which is the exam that kids take just before going to high school.

I remember how she used to do ballet, and that she swam for her high school… I also remember her always studying, and I remember going to her high school graduation, I THINK she was the valedictorian or something, and she was in the top two or three students academically and I remember feeling so proud of her!

And I remember how she and her boyfriend used to take me to the movies all the time. I also remember that her boyfriend would always bring these sweeties (candy) for her that I loved, and me stealing them from her all the time. Yeah, she cussed me out a few times, but overall, she mostly overlooked it.

I remember her going to the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, where she got a first degree in Natural Sciences and a masters in Chemistry, and how she worked at the university for a time, helping one of the professors in some research he was doing.

I remember her going off to Canada to do an MBA, and then her coming back home and landing a great job at Citibank afterwards.

I remember her wedding, and how happy I was for her.

There are more memories too, but this thing is getting deep! Unfortunately, I also remember the car accident, and then the coma, and all the other bad shit that went down afterwards… 26 long years of suffering.

Ah boy! Now that I am dredging up the memories, I am beginning to feel really sad. I think I’m going to stop it here…

Bets, now you are free. The limitations that restricted you here on Earth are no more… now, you can fly! Go ahead… enjoy yourself, girl!

Well, this year, I’m going old school! I got two resolutions!!! Well, 1.5 resolutions, really. This year, I’m going to learn how to cook, and I’m contemplating learning Spanish. I have already begun on the cooking thing, and I am going to continue, till I get pretty good at it, and I am all confident in the kitchen and shit! I wanna be like Drake when I grow up, yo! As Drake raps in his hit, “Headlines” – “I’m gonna be too strung out on compliments, overdosed on confidence”… (Yeah, I love that song!)

The other resolution I am contemplating is learning spanish… That one is a bit problematic, because Natty is going to think I have some special reason (that looks like the chick in my banner pic perhaps?) why I am learning it, but its really just that we have so many spanish speakers around us nowadays that, hey, why not? Its something to do and it will keep the brain active! Why the hell not?

Since I haven’t made up my mind on the spanish thing yet, I’m just going to say that its half a resolution, but you see the cooking one? Its ON! Yesterday I cooked Chicken and Bok Choy, with some nice Jasmine rice and Natty and MBJr. loved it! I should have taken a picture of it! I plan to do something today too… when it gets done, I’ma let you know, seen?
