More Effing Rain…
The weather forecast says it’ll rain all weekend! I know I was talking about liking the rain, but c’mon! This is not funny any longer, man… What is it, ten days or so of rain? Nine or ten people killed. Many, many people flooded out. OMG! Rain, rain, go away! And stay away for a while, ok?
I heard on the news today that crocodiles have been found in the drains (verges, mini-canals, whatever they are called) that run beside the roads in the Portmore area. Normally these drains are not under water all the time, but with ten days of rain, you done know! (you know that they are) Now these are drains that run right beside people’s houses, so you can understand that they are in a bit of a panic. Their kids play beside these drains… They are all anxious for the authorities to do something about it.
Now this one is good! They say that a rastaman captured one of the crocs, and not a little one either. When the television camera crew got there, apparently he had the mouth tied together with rope and the tail tied up to some tree or something… Now this is just a little man that lives in the area, not some expert croc hunter or anything like that. The news team asked him where he learned to do what he did with the croc and you know what his answer was? That he had seen it done on the Discovery Channel.
Big up, rasta! That probably is the only good news in all of this.
That rasta story..amazing! Seeing it is one thing but actual attempting and succeeding is something else…very brave or totally spliffed out guy!
I’m sure that the Rasta must be referring to that guy in the kahki outfit who you see on Discovery Channel, his name slips me now, but he is also crazy, wrestling crocodiles.
As for Portmore, that community is a disaster waiting to happen with its drains and flat land expanse. I don’t envy them at all.
You’re talking about the famous Crocodile Hunter. I love that guy! He’s so crazy its unbelievable. I’ve long said that his wife OBVIOUSLY stands to get a great deal of insurance if something happens to him - because there he goes, swimming with the crocodiles or some other equally (or more dangerous stunt) and there she is - filming and narrating! Oh I love to watch them - that kind of insanity is truly bewitching!
Seven, I endorse that. I love them too - Steve & Terry Irwin - what a pair! He’s Australian, she’s American! Now that the wife’s had a baby girl, they’ve premiered her in so many episodes (her name escapes me), also I do love the bitch (female dog, for all non-dog lovers) Suey because she’s really loyal and kooky. I guess in the rastaman’s case the Irwin’s made a real impression..haha! Discovery Channel comes to Ja, boy I tell you, we as a people are invincible!! Only in Ja.
Let me not speak too soon, but it looks like the ‘effing’ rain may have checked at last!
Hey Bro - wazup? Just about to get ready to go out to work, and am feeling really homesick missing all of you. I know I will be there soon - I come on june 17. But I miss you guys alot right now - today. I wish i could pick up the phone and call momma, but I’m trying to cut back on the long distance calls - the phone bill is astronomical. So just tell each and every person - Natty, MB Jr., Mom, Dad, Big Sis, and Next in Years Sis and your own self - I love and miss you guys!
Well Seven my dear, I know exactly how you feel. It happened to me when I was in England and now that Rufie lives in foreign it is even worse. Family belongs together. The parting when we meet is always difficult. It is even harder when you come from a small family like mine and Rufie’s. Anyway, the meeting always is great. Never mind, you’ll soon come home to a better place. Tell Midas to hug you, and if it’s any consolation, I’m looking forward to seeing you also.
Thanks Dr. D. - and thank God for my great little family which of course includes you and Rufie. Rufie - I miss you too, girl! Let me know if you’re ever coming down to Florida - we can have a real laugh-in time!
I just got hiome from work and am having a little vino before I go shower - and Midas has turned the tv to Cops - my gosh! What better way to make yourself feel better than to watch the squalor others live in! Whoo!
Anyway, I love you guys - be good, stay safe and take care!
Hey Seven, thanks for the support and love, I feel the same way about you too. I do understand the instant turning on of the TV as you enter, Marc Antony is stuck on CNN, Fox News Live, O’Reilly Factor, Lou Dobbs Money Line, MSNBC and the list goes on… the things we do for comfort!! Enjoy your trip to Ja - I miss you too and I wish I could be there, but cho, is life
One day for me. Mad Bull thanks for the support, as well as, Krueger and phleg. Take care of yourselves.
