On This Day…
Have you ever wondered what important things have happened on your birthday throughout history? Well, through encarta.msn.com, you too can find this out.
I was born on March 3, 1965. Thanks to Encarta, I discovered that a couple of famous inventors were born on my birthday, namely Alexander Graham Bell and George Pullman. A hot, sultry movie star also made her debut on this day, namely Jean Harlow!
Of course, these people were not born in 1965, but they share March 3 with me as their birthday.
On March 3, 1931, the “Star Spangled Banner” became the National Anthem of the United States of America. Interesting, huh? And on my birthday, March 3, 1965, the world became familiar with the word supercallifragilisticexpialidocious! Yes sir, on that day, in that year, the timeless movie “The Sound of Music” premiered. I’ve seen it about three or four times myself, and I’m sure MB. Jr. will watch it too, along with other movie classics such as “Oliver Twist” and “My Fair Lady”. They are simply great movies…
“I was born on March 3, 1965″. Clearly, I am mistaken. You were ACTUALLY BORN!!?? My word, I thought that you may simply have dropped from sky!! Hush my yute, I could not resist. No hard feelings intended.
Sorry Bro - but you have the movies a bit mixed up - I believe that term came from “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” with Angela Lansbury!
Oops - sorry again - i think it was actually “Mary Poppins” with the absolutely legendary, all-time favorite Julie Andrews! Anyway, the Sound of Music is perhaps my favorite movie - that and (I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but I love it damnit!!!!!!!!) “Save the Last Dance” are two movies I can watch any time no matter how many times I’ve seen them before!!!
When I want to torment idas - which happens often, I sing all the songs from The Sound of Music in my oh so fab opera voice - as Aunt Isla states, I have all the makings of a fine ‘coleraturs’ ( i’m sure the spelling is wrong … whatever!!!!!!!!)
Anyway - I have a new song for MB Jr. and Ambarie - Slim Shady in espanol!!!!!!!!! Wikid!
All you spell-checkers - OK!!!!!! So I’ve had a couple drinks… BITE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re probably right, Seven. But Sound of Music was still a great movie… The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music
