It Gwine Tuff

Yup! I’ve stolen Las May’s cartoon from the Gleaner again. I like this one. It depicts the economic situation in Jamaica, which is depressing, to say the least. What I found so interesting about this cartoon was the fact that it could so easily have been reversed and still held true. Las May could’ve drawn the Public asking PJ how the holidays were and PJ would be telling them a lot of “claat” and standing with his pockets turned out, because the Government “Bruk nuh Rass!!!”
Yessir, the talk when one goes out socially over the season always wends its way back to an apprehensive look at 2003, and the consensus is that 2003 is gwine to be tuff to rass! (going to be one hell of a tough year!)

Well my yute, your point is quite correct….most of us are indeed ‘bruck nuh rass’ However, despite the economic hardships that exist, there are quite a number of Jamaicans who seem to have never had it better. Trust me, tings a gwaan for some people here! If 2003 does indeed promise to be tougher than this year, then I might as well spend New Year’s Eve like this…… to rass!!!
