Health Tip of the Week
Ok, boys and girls… I’ve decided to give you tips on healthy living. If you’re good to me and comment plentifully during the coming week, I may even keep this up. Anyway, here goes…
REALISTIC RESOLUTIONS
If you’re like most people, you probably have some things you’d like to change about your life during the new year.
Psychologists have learned that change is more likely to happen when someone makes a smart intention about what they want to accomplish. A SMART intention is one that is: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant for you, and Time-oriented.
Stating your intention to lose 15 pounds by June 1 would include all the qualities of a SMART intention, instead of vaguely telling yourself you plan to lose weight during the coming year.
And remember the popular folk wisdom: ‘inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life’s too hard.’
Break your goals down into small, measurable steps.
Thats it, folks… Words to live by. See ya!
Well, I’m going to play devil’s advocate!! Since when did you become qualified to give health tips?? What are your medical credentials my yute??!! Or did you do some weekend course like the one I had suggested recently when you had insinuated (under the influence of two VX of course) that you would do Medicine! I think you had come up with a diagnosis of Roseola infermosa whatever the hell that is!Anyway, not bad advice for a ‘quack’ doctor. Maybe, just maybe, this could be the new horizon for you in 2003. Would you like to take over as author at this site called The Doctor is In!??.
Sorry Doc D… but Madbull did well on this post, You certainly do need realistic measurable goals to make them attainable. Very Sound advice.
Now… you silly Dr. D, you are a Dermatologist… that leaves loads of other health areas for this budding Doc to tend to!
