I’ve seen books on sex being advertised that promised to teach the reader 1001 different positions. I think they are a bit of a rip-off, actually. Some of the positions they tell you about seem to be in the book multiple times, but with different names.

As an example, what really is the difference between this (Doggie Style) and this? (The Sixth Posture of the Perfumed Garden, or SPPG for short)

Ok, so in SPPG, the man has his legs inside the woman’s legs. In the “Doggie Style” position, the man’s legs are placed outside the woman’s legs… So what?

Personally, I don’t think I have ever done SPPG. I have found that it is usually easier for the man to place his feet on the outside, because he is usually taller than the woman. Spreading his legs allows the man to bring his penis down to an appropriate height for him to insert it into the woman’s vagina. If you can comfortably insert your penis with your feet placed inside the womans, then you have a pretty tall lady to work with. I don’t recall ever being in such a situation, you simi?

What I’d like to ask though is whether that simple difference in the placement of the feet warrants calling those positions different, or are they really one and the same? What do you think? And are those books really useful to you? Would any of you recommend buying one of these books? And if you would recommend it, which book would you recommend?
