MSN IM 6

Whats your favourite Instant Messenger client? I use MSN IM, AOL IM, and Yahoo IM, and of course, they can’t all talk to one another, and I think that sucks.

There is also Trillian, an Instant Messenger client that CAN talk to all the others, and I thank God for that daily, because it returns a lot of screen real estate back to me. Before Trillian, I’d often have more than one IM client loaded and each of them do take up some screen space.

At the same time, now and again I do go into the proprietary Instant Messenger client, and I noticed that Microsoft is at present beta testing MSN Instant Messenger 6.

MSN IM 6 seems to have new emoticons, supports audio and web cams, and it allows you to post a picture of your choice and send it to the person you are chatting with as soon as you open a chat session with them… I’d like to try it out with y’all. If you want to try it out, download it from here, then look for me online…

  1. downloaded and installed it, and everytime I tried to turn it on, it would reboot my machine!

perhaps when it gets out of beta…

  2. Hey there, I downloaded it and added you (my addy for msn messenger is an addy I don’t use for mail… so you’ll find it a different one than what I sign comments with). Looking forward to meeting up with you there sometime!src=’/imgs/smileys/o_smile.gif’> I was chatting with my sis right after signing in with it and now she has it. We did some sharing too… shared eachothers desktop (which I’d not done in messenger before) and decided when I have time to help her with some html and blog stuff that’d be a good way to explain things, so she could see as I did something… or vice versa. …now, I need a new mic (mine seems dead … not a crackl, not a sound) and a new cam (just can’t seem to get my Kodak that I was using with the old pc to work with this one - driver problems ) and I can really enjoy MSN messenger!

  3. Our infrastructure is so poor that I can’t guarantee the speed we need for MSN 5.0 let alone this newest version. I checked into a DSL line and we are too far way to improve our download speeds. I may check into a cable modem. I’ve been waiting to see if the cable company has offered them in our area. Enjoy the new MSN IM!
