Head & Shoulders Above the Rest
Have I ever told you that I have dandruff? No? Well, I do and it can be fecking annoying! That shyte scratches the living bejesus out of you sometimes, man! When it really gets going shortly after you get to work, you have the whole day to scratch at it and then when you wash it, the shampoo burns the HELL out of you, you know?!
I notice that you will find a shampoo that works really well for you, and you start to use it exclusively until it just stops working, BRAPS, just like that! Have you noticed that too?
Of course theres more, just click the link below, silly!
So, what kind of shampoo do you use to tackle that flaky phuckry? I used to use Neutrogena, then that stopped working. Then I started to use Selsun Blue, and it did the job for awhile, and then it too started to fall down on the job!
After reading about the way that they treat AIDS with a cocktail of drugs, I started using combinations of Neutrogena and Selsun Blue, and that ‘cocktail’ worked swimmingly for awhile too.
Unfortunately, that period of happiness has been over for some time now, and I was in the doldrums for a bit.
Recently, I decided to try Head & Shoulders, one day when both members of my ’shampoo cocktail’ were out of stock. People, let me tell you, if you think that what I have been describing to you sounds like a period of boom, then a period of slump, this Head & Shoulders period is definitely a period of boom! It works great with the dandruff AND my hair feels so silky-smooth for a couple of days after I’ve washed my hair using it!
It feels so great that it brings to mind some of those shampoo ads with women, you know! I DO feel great after using it too, though it doesn’t make me cream my briefs like it does for the women in the ads, but I definitely do recommend that you try this shampoo, if like me, you suffer from the big ‘D’!
Whats that? You want to play in my hair?
What’re you, crazy? Mind you mek Natty get bringle, you know! (Mind you piss Natty off, you know!)
In other news, I saw a news item about police in Hong Kong having to pepper spray a fourteen year old who freaked out after her Mom took away her cellie! Apparently she went batshit and took after her mother with a knife!
She lucky I’m not her parent! If I wouldn’t bruck up her ra$$!
When you say Neutrogena - are you talking about the T-gel? That stuff works wonders. I have heard that anything with tea tree oil, tar or salicylic acid in it is great for dandruff.
Head and Shoulders has been a standard in this home for as long as it has been a home. You should have asked me Bro!, I could have saved you years of seach and heartbreak (smile)
Hmmm. It nuh mek you cream you brief…I should hope not to rass!
Strangely, you have a Dermatologist at your beckon call 24/7 and you have never really asked for my advice if I remember correctly….instead you put this up as a blog post so people can give you their opinions…reliable or not.
Here’s the real deal. There is no cure for it. There is no one shampoo that always works. You will have to keep switching from time to time. There’s a long list:
Neutrogena T -gel…not my favourite, pricey (like all Neutrogena products).
Nizoral (Rx required) or Triatop (OTC), 2% and 1% Ketoconazole respectively, usually work well.
ZNP (Zinc pyrithione), reasonably priced, works well.
Capex (newish here…think I gave you a free sample)….very pricey. Works for some, not others.
Selsun (Selenium sulphide). Yellow 2.5% (Rx required). Blue 1% (OTC). Not bad.
Tarmed (Crude coal Tar) Reasonably priced. Works well most times.
Use them twice weekly, use as your second wash, lather up and leave on the scalp for about 5 minutes before washing out. You can use a regular shampoo as your first wash.
If necessary, topicals can be applied to the scalp the night before washing: these help with the itch and inflammation and helps remove the scales: Combinations of antifungals, mild topical steroids and 2% precipitated sulphur +/- 2% salicylic acid. It that nuh help, you get phuck!
Your hair soft andd silky?? Is wah kinda high grade herb you a bun rude yute??
(The bill for the consultation has been sent by e-mail. And BTW, “Dandruff” is not covered by health insurance!)
