Yes Gert, it was a good movie. I think it depicted well the plight of Indians in the diaspora… trying to raise their children to conform to the old values when all around, they are bombarded by western culture. Pretty accurate. I know a few Indians, and their daughters gave them the same challenges. I know of at least two Indian girls who eloped rather than deal with the age old custom of an arranged marriage. I know a couple who went the arranged marriage route, who are now divorced. Maybe by the next generation they’ll have it straightened out.
I can remember when I began blogging that I hoped I would have something to blog about every day, but the reality is that some days you come up dry.
I think it’s nice you spent the time with your wife. *S*
