Under a Spell!
I had a bit of a laugh today, and I thought I’d share the reason with you… I went to NCB today. (Yeah, NCB has a branch here in Grand Cayman) Of course, as you might expect, NCB Cayman does have a number of Jamaicans working there, and in fact, even the security guard is a Yardie!
When I got there it was raining, so I got out of the car and ran up the steps. The security guard stopped me and pointed ot that my trunk was open. I waved it off and told him “Bwoy, security, you want to see, I met up with a lady by accident. A woman rammed my car in the back, and since then, the trunk cannot be closed. It is wired into that position right now, and I can’t do any better.” The security guard smiled and nodded, and I turned and continued on into the bank to do what I had to do.
When I was leaving the bank, it was still raining, and I had to dodge out of the way of a rather portly lady who barrelled her way up the stairs past me. As I went down the stairs, I noticed the security guard standing behind my car with a bemused expression on his face. I said to him “Oh, you wanted to survey the damage?”. He said “No, but I was just looking out for you. That lady who nearly knocked you down drove up and parked so badly that she would definitely have knocked up the side of your car when she opened her door. I got her to move over so that she had more room. I didn’t want your car to suffer anymore damage, you know?”.
I said “Thanks man! I really couldn’t take another lick, you know? Actually, I have only had this car for about two months and this this is the second time it has been hit in the back by a woman! Luckily the first time she only touched it, no real damage was done.”. The security guard said “Wow! It seems like the ladies have a thing for you and that car! You must be under some kind of “woman” spell!”.
I had to laugh at that one! Still, sometimes I see Natty giving me the ‘evil eye’ from time to time… what if there is something to what the man was saying? ![]()
