My Latest Find!
Here is an irie picture that I really liked. It was taken by a new Yardie blogger. The blogger’s name is Fyr. (I assume thats pronounced Fire). The pictures are from her “Miscellaneous Photos” album, and its a photo of the Mona Dam which shows the mountains off to perfection! Look pon dem nuh! Oh and if you click on the picture, you get a bigger, higher resolution one to look at, if you like. I hope I haven’t mixed up her sex, I think shes a she…
Anyway, back to the picture. I have often thought that I would like to take that same picture, but when I tried it, my picture didn’t come out as nicely as this one. My picture was probably taken later in the evening and the play of the light from the setting sun upon the undulating mountainside was just too much for this inexperienced photographer.
I can’t tell you how many times I turned my gaze upon those very same hills as I walked/jogged around the Dam! It brings back fond memories indeed! Gwaan go check it out, mah peeps!
Heres a nice sunset that she took as well. I am not sure where it was taken, she says it was taken on the highway, but me nuh know which one. Still, that picture puts me in mind of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. The picture reminds me of the eye of Sauron, shining forth from the Dark Tower of Mordor. Have a look at that picture too and tell me what you think.

Nice photo…taken at an elevation from somewhere in the direction of the UWI Campus, which is perhaps ehy she was able to capture a better shot than you trying while at the dam jogging. Gets perspective into it.

Well, Mish, I used to go to the Dam, at times all the time, at other times on and off, between 1987 and 2004. In fact, prior to my father’s death in April of 2003, I used to go there most evenings after work. Are you sure you used to go there? I think the question should be “How come I didn’t see you up there?”.

The mona dam picture… I got it from the road that takes you up to the very controversial new place - Long Mountain. Sitting on the window of my friend’s car (cos I am a little short). It *is* a nice pict, isn’t it? *sigh* Luv dis country!
The sunset from the highway? I think it was taken from the car while travelling on the first leg of Highway-2000 - Bushy Park to … ummm… the end.
Anywho - thanks again for the links and big up… excuse me for not saying more tho, I am still trying to get through all the links you have on here.
