Check These Out Nuh?

Saw some good news today! Jamaica and Cuba are through to the Gold Cup! Also through are Honduras, Panama, the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, and a few others. Trinidad and Barbados are playing off for the third ????? spot and South Africa has been invited to be the twelvth team, so thats all pretty exciting! smily

After all, seeing as Jamaica was unable to make the World Cup grade, the least we could do is to make a really good showing in the Gold Cup, am I right? I really hope that I’ll be able to see some of the matches over here, I’m not sure if they will be available… smily

I’m actually praying hard that we’ll kick some U.S. and Mexican butt this time around, but trust me, if all we do is dus’ out Cuba and Honduras, I’ll be happy, because plenty Cubans and Hondurans live here and that would give me bragging rights, you nuh seet? smily

Hey, you remember how the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team were a media event at one time? Yeah man, they even made a movie about them, starring John Candy, I believe it was called “Cool Runnings“… Well, Cayman seems to have been trying to follow in our footsteps. Check this out! They fielded (or is that ponded) a team for the World Championship of Pond Ice Hockey! smily

Unfortunately for them, they just missed the playoff round by one game! Better luck next time, Cayman!

Still, the Caymanians were the life of the (victory) party, seeing as the liquor being used by the victorious team to toast their success was frozen! smily

Yes sir, apparently while the victory celebration took place the participants were experiencing -50 degree temperatures! Lucky for them all, the Caymanian’s Tortuga Rum didn’t freeze, and the Caymanians were kind enough to share the liquor up. Good for the winners, nuh true! smily

    I never saw the Ja.-Cuba match….wonder what the score was?

    “Cool Runnings” damn I’m still embarassed i went to see that pile of $h!t…how yuh fi mek man a train fi race wit toilet paper when wi have nice big stadium..hell not even jago track dem coulda use? damn tourist mentality and don’t get me started on the comedy relief dread *breathes in, logs off*..peace for the weekend..guh deh Cayman… unnuh large

    anyway funny ya mention bobsled team. was watching sportsnews last night and they did a feature on some guy who was on one of the jamaican bob sled teams who emigrated to calgary an is now on this two man bobsled team thats looking to represent canada at some upcoming competition. they had the typical silly angle they always come with regarding caribbean people though. talking about the man real lay back an always smiling yada yada yada
