What A Gwaan
Yowah Yow! Whassup, peeps? Boy, I was trying and trying to write a post last night, but the vibe wasn’t there. I was just feeling tired and a bit sickly. (a pox on all who come around me when dem sickly and germs up, because is dem make me feel so last night!)
Still, God is good! I ended up going to bed fairly early because of how I was feeling and I felt pretty decent this morning, probably because of the early night.
So anyway, Sunday night I went to a new pool hall with Trouble… at least new to me! Its called the Attic and it was pretty cool… seems like Sunday nights are rock night. They were playing all kinds of rock music. It was nice, though Sir Trouble wasn’t into the music too much. You know which song I heard that I haven’t heard for a while? “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath! Wicked song, Rasta, especially when its turned up. Check out the video…
On Monday night, the Lions played another match! It was great, really exciting stuff, even though they ended up losing. The final score was 6-5, but we really shouldn’t feel bad, because the match was against the number one team in our league! My team actually had their ticket too, at least up until the end of the second half, when the defence went to pieces for a bit and conceded two goals in short order. Again I wasn’t playing, my knee wasn’t up to it yet.
I plan to train with them this weekend, then I will know if I can manage a match. We’ll see. Wish me luck, and if it doesn’t work out, send me some money for a visit to Bath in Jam. if my knee isn’t ready.
On Tuesday night, the Mad Bull rested, as mentioned above. Tonight now! Yes, Rasta! Tonight, I went to play some table tennis (TT) with a guy I now work with. He is from Jamaica, he is a fellow Kingstonian and a gentleman, although he had the misfortune to attend that school of rowdy boys on the eastern side of North Street. We do not mention that institution’s name in good company.
Anyway, he and I got a good knock going in TT. He is pretty good! I will have to play him again. Anyway, after our TT game, we stayed at Kings to watch the second half of a five-a-side indoor football game, it was Phoenix Construction vs. KPMG. It was an exciting match, won by Phoenix 4 - 2, but let me tell you something! That game gave me the opportunity to confirm to myself that the referee (he refs most of my team’s games too) is really a phucking thief! I mean, I have been saying it to all who would listen on our game nights, but at the same time, I always had in the back of my mind that I was biased! Tonight though, I didn’t have any particular team I was favouring and I was able to judge the referee’s performance dispassionately. People, they should ban the little phucker from refereeing anything in the entire universe! Not even a marbles game should he be allowed to adjudicate! Him thief, him thief, him thief, him thief! It was like KPMG were allowed to do anything they wanted to Phoenix, but let a Phoenix player even look at a KPMG player and PWEEEP!! The ref was blowing his whistle!
It were disgusting, man! Anyway… whatever. Men like that we just have to leave to God, otherwise we might end up in Her Majesty’s Prison.
By the way, on Sunday night, I watched this show, “Dog Whisperer” on National Geographic. The man’s a bloody marvel! You should see some of the things that guy got the dogs to do… Imagine! He had thirty seven dogs living together and there was hardly any fighting! He would just introduce new dogs at will… Often the new dog would be looking to fight, after all, it hadn’t yet been socialised into the pack. The new dog would attack one or two others and they would not retaliate! At all! I’m sure thats not a common feat!
Better than that, he had grown dogs grow to accept cats or rabbits and not chase or kill them! And, he managed to accomplish this in just one or two weeks! I found the whole thing fascinating!
On Monday morning, I heard that the American Humane Society is fighting him down. Ah wah do dem, doah eeeh? They said that he was roughing up the dogs, and that he held them down and forced their faces into the ground, and that he was choking the dogs. The whole thing was such an exaggeration! For several of these dogs, Cesar was their last chance! These dogs had been such phuckups previously that they were turned over to Cesar Millan as a last option before putting the animals to sleep and he did a fantastic job with them! I plan to start watching his show regularly. Its on Nat. Geographic at 8:00 or 9:00pm on Mondays, all you dog lovers watch it too nuh?
Peace and love, peeps, ah gone!
MB, I think the ref’s are biased because a lot of the players on the teams play in the outdoor league and national team, and are therefore well known to the refs.
The indoor league is awesome, but the refs are crap! Your captain should have received a player survey. Be sure to fill it out and give it in to Kings at some point and highlight this issue.

Seems the bad knee is a recurring decimal my yute…
Is bare six a side football play dere…dem nuh play on any regular size field?
That Dog Whisperer show isn’t bad initially, but after having seen a few episodes, it becomes a bit boring if you ask me.
He is “roughing them up,” “choking them,” “he held them down and forced their faces into the ground,” and then he turned around, nudged them with his gun & demanded “a smalls” from them, if dem noh waan Sarge shub dem inna de Jeep & carry dem goh station — oh no, I’m gettin’ de dog whisperer confused wid a different kinda “whisperer.”
Animal rights people are getting carried away now.
Yes, the Attic has been there from before Ivan. Hope you liked it. Hope you get some football in.
Bwoy, Doc, you don’t know the half of it!
Lol@Melody. I’ve seen part of dog whisperer and I was impressed.
Hey MB, neat site, I used to work near to your last employer in Ja., and you were on campus w my bro. Later vibes
Cesar I think is his name. First saw him on Oprah.
You mean you didn’t walk up to the ref. and challenge him?
Did the animal rights people mean he was abusing the dogs when training them…or when he has them on the show?
@ Guy. Gyal - No, didn’t rush the ref. I have no allegiance to either Phoenix or KPMG and I don’t want him to vent more of his venomous malice on the Lions, but I think I will get the team to complain against him in the manner suggested by Afrodite above.
Re the Humane people, I thought that they were talking based upon watching the show, because I don’t think that they would have been invited to watch him training the dogs, at least, not until after they complained, maybe…
@ R.I. - MY breddah, I hope I get to kick some ball too, but its kind of unlikely given how my knee is behaving. Re the Attic, yeah, I liked it.
@ C.D. and Melody, yeah, it looks like these activists are all mixed-up on this one.
@ Yamfoot, yeah, his name is Cesar.
@ Doctor D., no, they do play big field football too, but the indoor thing is pretty exciting! I love it.
@ Wonder Twin2, I know who you are! I picked it up due to the email address! Welcome to my site, glad you liked it, don’t be a stranger! Say hi to you twin and to your brother for me too! One love.
I really think the animal rights people have too much time on their hands.
I think the Dog Whisperer is great, and have watched his show quite a few times. Here, I think it is on Animal Planet, a whole station about animals. I wish I could be half as effective with my dog as he is.
