Another Caribbean Pageant

I got an email from a guy recently. I didn’t know him or anything, but I guess he had come across my blog posts on beauty pageants and so he wrote me to tell me about a beauty competition right here in the Caribbean that I previously did not know about. It looks to me like the contestants tend to be women from the Caribbean and from South America primarily. I am not sure what the criteria for entering the competition are. Anyway, there are some irie women from our region, a fact evinced when you look through the pictures on the site. Go check it out if you want to. Here is the link : Miss Caraibes Hibiscus Pageant.

You know what I found interesting though? I was looking through the pictures of Former Miss Caraibes Hibiscus winners and I came across a picture of my cousin’s daughter. Yeah, I knew she had won the Miss Jamaica Universe competition, but I didn’t know she had taken part in any other competitions apart from the Miss Universe. It was interesting.

Here is a picture of my cuz.

Ah mi cousin daughter dis.

Here is a picture of this year’s top three. The winner in the centre is Miss Guyana. The second place went to Miss Curacao, who is on her left, or on your right, looking at the picture. In third is Miss Trinidad & Tobago.

Thats it for now… by the way, today is sunny! Yay! Praises be to the Almighty! Woh Woi!!! Lets hope it continues like that for the rest of the week! I am tired of all the rain, man!

  1. I know that Guyanese take part in nuff nuff pageants but never saw that Queen before in the media. When I checked the site her name suggests that she is from French Guiana. They refer to their department as ‘Guyane’ too! Funnily they do not refer to Guyana as ‘Guyane Anglaise’ as we thought they would.

  2. I don’t mind more beauty pageants. More beautiful women to gawk at. I mean talents to appreciate. Your cousin’s daughter is quite the looker.

  3. Yuh cuz looks nice….Hmmm, MB what do you think about expanding your family a little….

Those three in the second pic look sweet like sugar, especially Ms Guyana!

  4. Mr. Stunner, I would have no problem but you would have had to have made your move years ago. She is now married with three kids.

    Sorry, mang.
