I Can’t Help It!
I have been hearing this song on the radio as I drive about the place, haven’t been listening with my full attentiveness, but the song has been invading my mental space on the quiet, slowly sinking roots in and taking firm hold, and eventually I found myself in the situation where I was craving to hear it and yet, I didn’t know the words or who sang it.
The song had me walking and asking people if they knew it and had me singing the bits and pieces of it I knew to them in hopes of jolting their recognitive synapses so that they could give me the information I needed: Who sang it, or the name of the song. No one could help me, perhaps because I was telling/singing “Can’t Stand it” instead of “Can’t help it”, and I didn’t know the “Tripping, stumbling” bit at all!
Eventually, I asked Natty. Why didn’t I just ask her in the first place? “Oh! Thats Fergie!”, said Natty. “That can’t be Fergie! That sounds like a black girl!”, I replied. “Go to youtube and put in ‘Fergie Can’t Help It and you will see.”, Natty replied. She was right!
I love this song. It catchy, don’t? Bwoy, everything Fergie puts out, I just find that I love it!

The song is called Clumsy, and somehow it grows on you then sticks there forever.
