What a Gwaan, Happy New Year!

Hail up. How you do? Me, I’m good. It was a nice weekend, spent loafing, reading, in front of the computer, watching movies and even an American football game, going to the beach, going to the gym and even playing a bit of pool. Nice! :)

Yeah, man, me watching American Footie. Can you believe it? I was getting ready for work one morning and heard Robin Meade and someone else talking about a historically important game coming up: The Patriots were playing the Giants on Saturday night and this was their last game of the season and they had a chance to make it a perfect season, winning every single game. I don’t know if it was Robin’s mellifluous voice or what it was, but I decided then and there that I was going to watch that game, and I did, and it was pretty good! The Giants led for the first two and a half quarters, and they managed to keep it pretty close, but the Pats did it! A perfect season! Congrats to them. Now to really make it a great year, they have to make it to, and win, the Super Bowl. Good luck to them.

One of the movies I watched over the weekend was Alien versus Predator (AVP). Yeah, since they had the sequel to AVP out in theatres now, the conversation turned to it at work. A number of people suggested that it was a good movie, despite the bad reviews I was certain I had heard about it. I decided therefore to rent it and check it out myself. What did I think? Well, it was ok. Not something you want to pay premium dollar for at the theatre. Perhaps not even one you should pick up on DVD. wait for it on HBO or Showtime, IMHO. Its not a total waste of time, but it isn’t all that hot either. As a matter of fact, I think the 5.5 out of 10 rating given to the movie by IMDB was generous. As for the sequel, they won’t be seeing my money, not a rass.

I only made it to the gym on Sunday, but it was a good workout! Hey, is it just me or has anyone else noticed how when you have finished working out, its almost like you are on some sort of high or something! You just feel… powerful, able to do anything, pumped! Have you noticed that? Hours later you feel tired, I guess, but right after, you feel really great! Its a nice feeling. For Marangand, or anyone else who might be interested, the weight loss is now about six pounds, and thats without really lowering the alcohol consumption too much or without paying too close attention to my diet. Sweet!

So, how do you plan to spend New Year’s Eve? No party for me. Not this year. Actually, I was thinking of just chilling at home, but yesterday, I heard Natty telling a friend that we should get some liquor and stuff and go chill out on Public Beach and watch any fireworks and so on from there. She was talking about bringing the kids too. Its not such a bad idea, actually. Might be fun. I hope she still feels like going tonight. Anyway, all the best to you and yours for 2008. I hope you attain your goals in the New Year, whatever they are. Hey, do yourself a favour and click the arrow below to play the video… Kenny G’s “Auld Lang Syne” is beautiful.

Happy New Year, Cayman! Happy New Year, Jamaica! Happy New Year to you all.

Respect.
