Barack Gets No Sleep Due to Unsolvable Cube

I feel like I scarcely got any sleep last night. “Why is that?”, you ask. Well, probably because I really didn’t get much sleep last night!

And I am not sure why. I don’t really feel tired either, strangely enough. Not yet, anyway! I suppose tiredness is going to smash into me like a ton of bricks at work, and after I get home this evening, say at about 7:00pm tonight. I hope I can make it to the gym later, but if I am feeling too tired, I guess I will just have to give it a pass.

Oh yeah… tonight is the “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles!” TV show! Must not forget!

So, how do you feel about the U.S. Presidential Elections? I see a fair amount of T.V. coverage on it, mostly because that is what the TVs are on at the gym. Imagine, they could have the TVs tuned into ESPN or one of the sports channels, or they could tune in to VH1, or MTV or Hype TV, but no! Pure US Election coverage. News, debates, stuff like that. I don’t really watch it, but with those people droning away at you for an hour to an hour and a half each day, some things seep through.

The most interesting stuff going on recently is the struggle between the people trying to win the leadership of the Democratic Party, so that they can run for President. I saw some of that on TV last night. I suppose there must be some Republican Party debate going on too, but I suppose I have blocked that from my mind totally, because I can’t tell you diddley shit about that, but the struggle between Hilary, Barack and the third person, whats his name again? I believe its John something… you know who I mean, right? Thats not such bad TV, I suppose. Imagine if Hilary or Barack won! History in the making, to rass! Wow!

So what can I tell you about the three candidates? Well, I can’t say much about John, except it looked to me last night like he was trying to gang up with Hilary to fight against Barack. Mainly, the fight is between Barack and Hilary, it seems and I have no idea who will win. It is interesting, however. Hilary seems pretty well composed and she can talk a good talk. How about Barack? He does too. I can also tell you that Barack voted “present” 100 times recently (instead of voting for or against them) on whether or not some bills should have been passed, and Hilary and John were trying to take him to task on that. I think he managed to walk through the minefield that Hilary and John had laid out for him, but I don’t think he really succeeded in laying traps for them. Maybe for John, but not for Hilary. I’d say Barack needs to get off the back foot and launch an offensive, rasta!

One thing I can tell you about Barack, though, boy… he has a great voice. If he doesn’t make it to President, and if he wants a career switch, I think he would make a great Disc Jockey on radio! Nice voice. I really like it. Oh, I guess the man must have many other talents, after all, he is running for the post of President of the US! I am really only sure about that voice though…

So anyway, what are your thoughts? Who do you like, who do you think will be selected to run for the Democrats eventually, and who do you think will take tbe big prise eventually, the Republicans or the Democrats?

Change of topic now. I am going to chat a bit about the Rubiks Cube. Man, I remeber that toy first coming out in Jamaica back when I was in Third Form or Fourth Form! It took over the place like wildfire too! Everyone was doing it. Do you know that I could solve the Cube back then? Yes, Rasta! I was able to do that. Plenty of guys in my Form were able to do it! I remember that we used to have races to solve it too, and there were guys who were so serious about it that they would break the cube apart and oil the insided of the pieces, so that it would move more easily when they were in a race with someone to solve the cube.

The Rubiks Cube was good fun, but then the craze died down somewhat. The Cube is back now again though! I see plenty of them popping up all over the place and I see where people have even built robots that can solve the cube in about three minutes! Obviously the whole thing has gotten away from me, because I don’t think I ever solved the cube in three minutes, though the robot can do that and apparently some humans are even faster than that!

MBJr. got a Rubiks Cube just before Christmas. It was sort of different than the old cubes, in that they put pictures and words on the faces. Here, have a look.

I’d like to think that made solving this cube more difficult, actually, because I tried my hand at it but found that I could only solve one side now! Still, I am sure that the pictures and words they put on the faces shouldn’t add significantly to the challenge. Perhaps I have just lost my skillz!

Oh well… at least the Light of Jesus shines in me!

TTYL, seen!

  6. The Democratic nomination/race between Clinton and Obama is getting nasty. Race has reared its ugly head and has now become the issue. Man , I still have my old Rubik’s Cube. I did not toss it . I now use it has a paperweight in my library . Now that you mention it , I may try my hand/luck at it again, but I doubt if I will be able to solve it now/today, since I was not able to do so years back. Again, I may find it therapeutical or may be it could be a stressor.RESPECT ! !
