The Mad Bull’s Blog, Version 3

I am not sure who came up with this award, but I suspect it was Lady Roots. Anyway, I received this award from Irie Diva. She says I am one of the first five blogs she checks regularly, her reasons can be seen here, as well as the other people upon whom she conferred this honour. Thank you, Irie!

Now this award is sort of meme-like, see the list below as to whats expected when you receive the award:

• You are expected to display the award image (shown up there one the top left of this post).
• Acknowledge the post of the award giver.
• People who receive the award are expected to in turn give the award out to five people.
• You let them know in their comments.

Now let me give you the things I have decided to use in order to decide which blogs I am going to award this to.

• I must enjoy reading the blog. (A big part of my enjoyment lies in variety. Even if the people write extremely well, if they write about only one topic, I don’t usually stay long. Doesn’t mean that the blogger doesn’t have a great blog, but I like to read different kinds of stuff.)
• They must have new stuff up on the regular! Doesn’t have to be daily, but too many breaks and for too long and I stop checking them on the regular. Doesn’t mean they don’t have up good stuff, but I hate going day after day and not seeing anything new.

Thats about it. Now that we have the niceties out of the way, on to the meat of the post.

My first award goes to Owensoft.net. Yes, my peeps, I used to check this site daily, but then I decided to use an RSS widget in my sidebar to track when Owen et all post updates. I simply love Owensoft.net, you always find something interesting there and there are so many categories of stuff there and also, a variety of posters to keep things interesting. Owensoft.net, oonoo mek mi day!

My second award goes out to Leon’s “My thoughts on Stuff“. Leon posts very regularly, and his stuff is usually quite interesting. He does have this fascination with Paris and Britney (I’m sure he would like nothing better than to spend a night in Paris ) but despite this obsession, he still manages to put up a lot of other interesting, varied information and I have to keep going back. BTW, Leon, I heard some talk on the TV as I was passing by that one of her bodyguards has been drugging her, which may be the reason for some of her more strange behavior. If is true, I hope he gets locked up for a long time! Anyway, big up, Leon, oonoo mek mi day!

Next up is a joint award. This I am going to share between Jdid (Jdid Thoughts) and Geoffrey Philp. I read both of these bloggers pretty regularly. and I like them a lot. Jdid writes a lot of stuff about Toronto and the happenings there, and his view on it, and he usually makes what he has to say quite funny. Geoffrey is a master of words. He does a lot of promotion of Caribbean writer and their books. Thats good stuff if you want to know about that, but where Geoffrey really stands out for me is when he writes his story like posts, or when he writes about things like Rastafari, or Jamaica or his past, etc. His poetry is excellent too. Guys, nuff respect, both of you are large and oonoo mek mi day!

Now my next post is to Yardflex.com. Parhaps this is the most regular blog I read. It is basically a group blog, and it sort of takes the format of a quasi newspaper. It has a lot of topic areas, but there is a lot in it about reggae and the music industry, and sometimes they put up some interesting discussions that come in like posts (Buffulous and Rootzgirl, oonoo large!)… I am not sure that I should really call this a blog, but it does have a blog-ish format, and I check it very regularly, so… Yardflex, oonoo mek mi day.

My final award is to all those others who see comments from me, though perhaps not as regularly as they would like. People, me love oonoo, from you get a comment, it mean say you hot! You know yourselves. People like Abeni, Adrian, Cranky Putz, Irie Diva, Stunner, Taylor… there are more but you all know who you are. Like I say, if you get comments from me, ah you me ah talk, seen! The problem with all of oonoo for me is frequency! Run posts more frequently and more than likely next time I run these awards, your name will be in the top five. Respect to you all. Oonoo mek mi day!

Since I have given the last award to such a big group, I won’t ask any of you to display the image or give out the awards in turn. Instead, I would urge you to put out stuff more frequently. Give me some stuff to read, and if you do, well, you will make my next selection day for this award MUCH harder!
