Respect to all crew… Happy Saturday!
I came across some pictures of the lovely Caymanian model, Selita Ebanks and thought I would share them. Click on her picture over there to the left if you wanna check dem out, yo!
So, what a gwaan wid oonoo? There aint much going on with me. I wanted to go a road last nite, but the helper let us down again… Imagine, she agrees to watch MBJr. then says that a friend of hers (also someone we know) will come by and they will go sit by the pool. Now, I think to myself, “So, what if MBJr. doesn’t want to sit by the pool? Will you leave him in the apartment while you both sit by the pool nd chill, or will you force him to sit by the pool with you? Hmmm… I don’t like the sound of that!”. I spoke to Natty about it and we agreed. Natty and I decided that we would just not go out after that. We will have to make arrangements with M’Buthelezi to babysit next time. I was somewhat pissed off though! This is like the third abortive attempt to hit the streets in a row! I’m feeling sort of like a prisoner! Bumbo Claat!
In other news, we’ve had two murders over here in the Cayman Islands in the last week! That brings the number of murders for the year to five! This is most uncommon, and of course, people are a bit worried about it.
Also in local news, a local cop and an ex-cop have been arrested. You will recall that I had written about three top cops being relieved of their duty recently to facilitate an investigation? Well, I had believed all those cops were re-instated as there was talk about the cops having been found to have done their jobs well in relation to the original complaint against them, but it seems that was not so. Either that, or Net News is buggering up the news again. Here is what the Net News has to say: Two remain out on “required leave” and one has been arrested. It seems that other things surfaced in the original investigation which resulted in one of the three cops being arrested. Here is what the Caymanian Compass had to say recently:
The allegation against Mr. Kernohan, Deputy Commissioner Rudolph Dixon and Chief Superintendent John Jones relates to “their roles in the events” which culminated in an unauthorised entry at the office of Cayman Net News publisher Desmond Seales on 3 September, 2007.
None of the three men have been charged with any crimes. Former Net News employee Lyndon Martin was charged last month in connection with a burglary at Mr. Seales’ office. However, police have said that burglary occurred in August.
Another Net News employee was allegedly involved in the 3 September entry at Mr. Seales’ office. That individual has never been charged with any crime.
UK Metropolitan Police looking into the case also said that Mr. Dixon and a former Royal Cayman Islands Police officer were arrested Thursday morning in connection with other allegations unrelated to the misconduct probe.
Of course, rumours abound! I won’t join in the speculation myself, but they have some “ish” on these matters posted at the Marl Road if you’re interested.
There is a CI$11,000 reward being offered for information regarding who was responsible for the iguana killings but it doesn’t seem as though much progress has been made with the case , so I don’t have much to say on that front. There have been suggestions that dogs may have been responsible for these killings, though not in the newspapers.
Thats just some of what a gwaan here. Whats up in your neck of the woods?
p.s. Please take note of the new “Polls” section in my sidebar. Vote early and vote often!

Esteban, 600 well rough fi true.
What’s the population of Cayman again? That works out to one murder a month - in a country the size of Cayman, that’s pretty astonishing, I guess…
Hmm good on you for not forcing poor MbJr to sit by the pool…
cranky putz’s last blog post..My Pressure Bad, Bad, Bad….
Yes 7 (seven), I do agree with you, that one murder a month in a country the size of Cayman is significant .Interestingly, the entire Caribbean has become one murderous and criminal hell hole ,and it is becoming more apparent each day, that this high incidence of murder and violent crimes will not decrease any time soon.RESPECT!!
[...] sister heard the man, hell I’m even scared to put this on my blog! I just left a comment on MBs post where Caymanians were worried about the level of murders (not yet double digits!) since the start [...]
