Last night was pretty cool, actually, despite my car boiling over twice as I was taking it back to the mechanic after work. It had me sitting on the roadside for ages waiting for it to cool down. Thank God fi mi bredrin Gotti, to rass! Trust me, good friend better than pocket coil, you nuh seet! Gotti helped me to get the car to the mechanic! Respect, Sir Gotti!

So what did I do? Well, first I had a couple of well disguised soft drinks at Mango Tree, (the sweetie of a bar tender pretended to everyone that it was Grey Goose and Cranberry that she was serving to me when it was really just Cranberry juice and Club Soda. My gout was acting up, thats why I was on soft drinks. I need to stop drinking, you know! Its just that life will be so flippin boring afterwards! ) then got some chinese food and watched a movie on Netflix with the family. We watched a couple episodes of “Family Guy“, then we watched a Tyler Perry movie, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself“. It was ok. I give it a 5.7/10. It can watch. (The leading actress, Taraji Henson is pretty hot still, IMHO! When you see her in her slinky dresses, it will give you all kind of naughty ideas, trust me!) Yea, so the movie wasn’t awesome, but it was fun chillin’ with all the family on a Friday Nite. Nowadays, either Natty or I have gone out on Friday nights or we are all here, but we’re all doing our own shit, not really chillin’ together, if you know what I mean. It was nice for a change….

Actually, now that I think about it, the whole day yesterday was irie… Work was pretty easy going and nice, excepting for hearing the news about my bredrin’s car, then I went over my job appraisal with my boss! 4.5 out of 5, YO! At lunchtime, Gotti and I went to a friend’s house and nyammed some KFC (Chipotle Wings, fries, a corn and a cole slaw for me… Yum!), while they played a PS3 game, FIFA Street. It actually looks like a lot of fun! Check it out:

I may just buy it and practice it up on my lonesome, then go back and kick they ass, yo!

Then I wound the day down by going to bed at a decent time and getting some good ZZZZ’s in for a change! Pretty decent overall, actually…

So it’s the New Year, ppl. Some people like to make resolutions for the New Year. I used to do that stuff myself, but in more recent times, I have just been kicking it, just laying back and chillin’ and going with the flow.

Well, this year, I’m going old school! I got two resolutions!!! Well, 1.5 resolutions, really. This year, I’m going to learn how to cook, and I’m contemplating learning Spanish. I have already begun on the cooking thing, and I am going to continue, till I get pretty good at it, and I am all confident in the kitchen and shit! I wanna be like Drake when I grow up, yo! As Drake raps in his hit, “Headlines” – “I’m gonna be too strung out on compliments, overdosed on confidence”… (Yeah, I love that song!)

The other resolution I am contemplating is learning spanish… That one is a bit problematic, because Natty is going to think I have some special reason (that looks like the chick in my banner pic perhaps?) why I am learning it, but its really just that we have so many spanish speakers around us nowadays that, hey, why not? Its something to do and it will keep the brain active! Why the hell not?

Since I haven’t made up my mind on the spanish thing yet, I’m just going to say that its half a resolution, but you see the cooking one? Its ON! Yesterday I cooked Chicken and Bok Choy, with some nice Jasmine rice and Natty and MBJr. loved it! I should have taken a picture of it! I plan to do something today too… when it gets done, I’ma let you know, seen?

So, they held elections in Jamaica on December 29th. The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) felt it was going to win, and so did a lot of political analysts, both professional and amateur. Unfortunately for the JLP, and maybe for Jamaica, they didn’t.

The Peoples National Party (PNP) routed the JLP. They won 41 seats to the JLP’s 22. How could everyone be so wrong? I wont spend any time on analysis, since I don’t live there anymore and I haven’t followed whats going on over there very closely. Here is one bloggers opinion on why the whole thing went pear shaped for the JLP.

My personal take on the PNP win? *sigh* I am not surprised, really… Despite the fact that the PNP has never handled the Jamaican economy well, Jamaica has a love affair with the PNP and that is that! In my opinion, the relationship between the PNP and Jamaica can be described like that of a battered wife who just keeps on going back to the battering husband… but as I said, that is just my opinion.

If you feel different, don’t bother to attack me… your party has won the election already! Anyway, I don’t think it makes much of a difference nowadays. Neither party had a lot of options open to it and no matter who is at the helm, there are some dark days ahead for Jamaica.

I pray that God will work a miracle and somehow the PNP will be able to put Jamaica on a positive path at last… but somehow, I doubt that He will. I do wish them the best though, because Jamaica could really use a boost up.

Yes bwoy! Chef Natty on di case! She is in the kitchen cooking up a storm. I was in there trying to help her, but YOW! She miserable like Chef Gordon Ramsey, you know!

Just because I kept stopping work on her assigned tasks to take a photo or two, she got vexed and she ran me out of the kitchen! She sent me to go and fold up the clothes in the dryer instead.

I would much rather help out in the kitchen, you know. Its more interesting work. My bredrin Gotti would tell me I mustn’t allow her dictate to me. “Come outta di “panty Government” ting, Mad!”, he would say…

Still, because I know which side MY bread is buttered on, I dare not rebel! Right now, the only thing I could do would be to tell my bredrin, “Nuh boddah mix me upppp!!!!

Judge Toler

So I was folding up some clothes, right! I decided to flip through the channels to find something to use as background noise… as I flipped through the channels, I kept coming across all these court shows… Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, Judge blah blah, Judge Blah Blah 2, yadda, yadda, yadda!

I am so sick of all these blasted court shows! Why are they still on the air, for Christ’s sake! It almost makes me wish someone would just assassinate them all! Just kill them, every last one! Well…. not the one thats on Divorce Court…. Judge Lynn Toler. Not her, I like her… she’s hot!

Yeah, bobo, it’s been a nice weekend so far! Trus’ meh!

You see Friday evening, after work? I was supposed to go home, you know, because I had some out-of-hours work to do! Luckily for me, the work got cancelled! Some screen in the application was not behaving as it was supposed to, and so the I/T guys have to figure out why! LOL! I guess there ARE some good points to being outsourced (if the company retains you as an employee). In the past, I would be the one who had to fix that shyt!

Anyway, I STILL wasn’t supposed to go out! Why not? Well, last week I was on vacation, and I partied up a storm while Natty stayed home, staying with MBJr. She was going out with her friend this Friday, and it was my turn to stay home. But I BBM’ed her to find out where she was, so I could have one drink with her… Bananas,she said, but she was heading to Mango Tree next. Therefore, I went to Mango Tree to wait on her.

She eventually arrived… there was a lady there who seems to be into Natty’s friend, and so she bought them some drinks, so they stayed at Bananas a bit longer than planned… By the time they got to Mango Tree, I had filled my eyes with bartender beauty, and my glass with a couple of Vodka Cranberries, and this lady from New Zealand had started chatting me up…

Anyway, they came, they saw and Miss New Zealand was conquered (she went back to the people she had been sitting with before I came). Natty, Dani and I had a drink and made small talk, then I came home.

I was feeling tired, and so I fell asleep really early, like 9:30pm or something! I woke up when Natty came home, fell back asleep, then woke up again at 3:00AM. Its like I cannot sleep for longer than five hours in one stretch, you know! Anyway, it being a Friday nite (Saturday morning, really, but who cares,) I decided to sit on my back porch and celebrate the start to the long Christmas weekend by myself. After a couple of Vodka Cranberries, contemplating the universe and surfing Facebook, I fell back into my bed at 5:30am or so and I slept till about 9:00am.

I went on the road to meet a bredrin at midday. I had to pick up this present for MBJr. from him. Since he was on vacation, and the store that had the gift I’m giving MBJr. is near to his house, I had asked him to pick it up. We met at Mango Tree for me to get the present. Since I had eaten nothing but a banana all day, I had a nice plate of Curried Goat, and he had Stewed Beef. Of course that was washed down with a “juice” or two, then we went about our business. But at least I managed to get a good Friday nite lime in, albeit stretched out between Friday evening and Saturday midday!

I bought a few more gifts, some groceries and then I went home. Natty was cleaning house and cooking, so I helped her a bit. Watched a bit of a couple of NFL games. I am doing a bit poorly in that regard. My picks were a bit off, and I have fallen to third place in the ESPN Pigskin Pickem game that me and some bredrins are involved in…

Oh well, at least I won the Fantasy Football League! Go, Team Rasta Pasta! W00t!!!

We watched “Kick Ass” again last nite! This time, we let MBjr. watch it with us. Man, that was a bad ass movie! We need a sequel to that, you know!

Anyway, it has been an enjoyable weekend so far. let’s pray it continues just like that! Whats next? Well, Natty’s friend Dani is supposed to come up for Christmas dinner today, and my bredrin Gotti is having his dinner on Boxing Day… There are two new movies in the theatre that look interesting (“The Adventures of Tin Tin” and “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol“)… Also, I got MBJr. a remote controlled helicopter, we could have some fun with that! I have a Skype chat set up with Natty’s Mom, Dad and brother, and with my sister and her husband, and I’m going to call my Mom and sisters in Jamaica… and it would be awesome if we got in a bit of beach time too!

Suffice it to say that there are things to do, so it should be interesting.
